layerX unveils free IT Search Utility

layerX Technologies, a pioneer in providing unified network management solutions for enterprises and service providers, today announced it is giving away its new information technology (IT) Search tool called PUNQ. PUNQ, an acronym for Portable Utility for Network Query, is a desktop application that allows IT managers to collect, analyze, search and store IT events gathered from the network infrastructure including system logs, SNMP traps, network probe information and more.

PUNQ has an integrated “Google-like” search interface that enables IT managers to search through millions of network events within seconds to pinpoint the most relevant IT events and effectively troubleshoot network problems. IT managers can also use PUNQ to upload historical data to further analyze IT event trends.
